Most people have negative thoughts on the impact casino gambling have made in the lives of many. Today both adults and teens engage in the world of gambling and casino games for a variety of reasons. In reality, the industry has more to offer in the light of the economy and financial gain.
A recent study in Massachusetts concluded that the state could benefit greatly from the industry. Results have shown that in a year, casino gambling has generated whopping $2.3 billion gross revenue. In line with this, the demand for gambling has significantly increased from a previous $2 billion to an inflation of $2.3 billion in gross revenue. A huge percentage of $500 million to $550 million came from patrons living outside the state. This goes to show that the industry benefits greatly from outsiders heading over to the state for gambling.
Aside from the benefits to the economy, another study made by the Boston Chamber recently had determined that the industry would be capable of offering 17,000 to 21,000 permanent jobs for the native people. Workers could gain an annual salary of $36,000 to $44,000 for positions that does not require a college diploma.
Though many have negative views to offer, casinos continue to thrive in Massachusetts and worldwide for the great benefits both the economy and the people involved gain from it. As long as the industry keeps helping boost the economy, tourism, and employment in every nation, it will remain standing strong no matter what law or recession stands in its way.
